Ikebana (Japanese meaning "living flowers") is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. In contrast to flower arranging in western countries, the Japanese flower arrangement attempts to create a harmony of linear construction and open spaces, emphasizing the line-art elements, such as stems and branches.
